Promoters
Promoters are the life-blood of Arts Out West and every touring scheme in the country.
They are unpaid volunteers, dedicated to making things happen in their community.
They book the shows, put up the posters, distribute the fliers, sell the tickets, welcome the artists, feed them, run the event (not forgetting the refreshments and raffle), thank the audience for coming, tidy up and lock up at the end ! Then count up the money, do the paperwork, give their feedback, and get ready for the next show !
Often they are members of the village hall committee, but this is not necessarily the case. However, as you'll be thinking if you've read this far, it's much too much for one person to do on their own. We recommend there are at least five other people willing to help you - both in publicising the show and helping on the night.
So , if you still want to be a promoter, read on...
